Technology and AI-enabled operations for boards modernising how legacy processes work.
QGen Limited - Compliance & KYC
Two stints, 2007-2020I joined QGen in 2007 as its first employee, building the company's systems and operations from scratch as a 24/7 call centre for finance companies. When the 2010 recession collapsed most of our clients' businesses, I left as the company pivoted toward compliance and KYC services. I returned in 2013 - first as a consultant, then near full-time - and rebuilt QGen's operational and technical foundation for its new KYC/KYB business, including building its KYB capability from the ground up, as the team grew to around 20 people, in a sector where operational and compliance failures carry real regulatory consequences. I left in 2019/20; QGen was sold in 2022.
Keepmeposted - Managing Director
2011-presentIn 2011, my partners and I bought Keepmeposted, a small job board, through Righthere Ltd, initially as a side project. As Managing Director, I've rebuilt its systems and processes repeatedly since, growing revenue nearly 30x and job listings more than 12x, while keeping the core team at just five people through careful process design and selective outsourcing of functions like marketing and finance. It's been Malta's market-leading job board for most of that time.
The pattern across both: operating judgment through business-model shocks and long stretches of growth alike, and the discipline to keep a lean team doing more through better systems rather than more headcount.
I hold the Association of Directors in Malta's Role of the Director certificate, and I understand the line between operating a business and overseeing one. I bring the operator's eye for process and technology risk, not a claim to governance expertise I haven't earned elsewhere.
Currently open to one or two additional Non-Executive Director positions, based in Malta or elsewhere in the EU where remote participation is workable. Sector isn't a filter - what matters is whether the board is navigating digital transformation, process modernisation, or technology-related risk, where this experience is directly useful.
